AHA facial toner

Why should we use a toner?

• They help the skin by balancing the pH as well as minimizing the look of pores.
• They are beneficial in removing anything missed during cleansing.
• They prepare the skin to receive the serums and moisturizers that follow.

What about AHAs?

AHAs (alpha-hydroxy acids) are chemical exfoliants, as opposed to physical ones (like that rough apricot scrub we've all used). They actually much more gentle and effective at exfoliating our skin. AHAs (and BHAs) help to loosen the bonds that hold our topmost layer of dead, dull skin cells together. The AHAs soften that bond and our skin is able to evenly shed the old cells.

AHAs may also assist in reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, plus they help the skin look and feel firmer!
They are also used to improve the appearance of that dull skin tone we hate and helps to smooth out a rough, uneven texture.

This formula works on the surface of your skin (does not penetrate) and is particularly well-suited for normal to dry skin. AHAs have wonderful moisturizing benefits and are known to reduce the signs of sun-damage and appearance of aging skin.

When dealing with natural ingredients slight variations in color and scent may occur from one batch to the next, this is due to harvests of certain herbs and extracts, and it does not affect efficacy of the product.

Directions

Apply with a cotton round after cleansing. This formula is mild enough for daily use. You do NOT have to rinse this off. Follow with your serums and moisturizer. You may also use a toner before the AHAs if you would like, but it is designed to be a skin toner as well.

Please use caution when going out into the sun. The best advice is to always wear a sunscreen and a beautiful big hat.

If you have never used AHAs or BHAs before, we recommend starting out with just 2-3 times a week, then moving up. Pickle uses this twice a day, morning and night. However, if you have extremely sensitive skin, this may not be the toner for you, in which case we would suggest our botanical skin toners, as they are extremely mild.

As with all topical products, we recommend you spot test before use by applying a pea-sized amount and waiting 24 hours. If you experience any skin irritation, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist if necessary.
